Namita Alexander, a renowned celebrity stylist, has made significant contributions to the fashion industry, especially through her work with Bollywood celebrities like Jacqueline Fernandez, Rakul Preet Singh and Diana Penty. Her approach to styling emphasizes minimalism, enhances her clients' looks by introducing subtle changes that highlight their best features, and showcases signature styles that are both sophisticated and distinctive. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, she discusses her client Diana’s style.
Speaking about Diana Penty’s personal style, Namita said, “Her style is very classic. She's very, very classic which is great. She doesn't go according to trends. She likes to throw on a blazer with most looks. Very, very classic, elegant, sophisticated as her style.”
Recalling the 2023 Cannes Film Festival look, she added, “For it, we did something very different. We did a tuxedo but a cropped tuxedo and why it worked on her is because she has such a long torso. So I had a very short tuxedo jacket and long pants that she’s the only one who could make a tuxedo jacket look so sexy and only look sexy because she had those body dimensions and proportions.”
“We took a huge risk; I didn't want to use many accessories and I wanted her to shine. I just focused on hair and makeup very like 70s Italian glam, big hair, big eyes, and just that sexy cropped black tuxedo. And it could only work on her body because she has like long legs, and a long torso. So the reason is that very beautiful outfit, but ordinary as it is just a crop jacket and pants, but it elevated and looked so good. It did very well in India and abroad only because of her being her.”
