EXCLUSIVE: When Anupam Kher played a prank on Satish Kaushik during their struggling days, as shared by Kaagaz 2 co-star Smriti Kalra 2 : Bollywood News

Director VK Prakash’s Kaagaz 2 stars Satish Kaushik, Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta but the film also stars Smriti Kalra in a pivotal role of a young and bubbly social media enthusiast. The film turned out to be the last for Satish Kaushik, who was also the creator of the movie.

Sharing her memories with the late actor, Smriti told Bollywood Hungama in an exclusive chat, “He is very nice. I always still talk about him in the present tense. He is very kind, warm and encouraging. Always motivating to move ahead. He trusted me more than I trusted myself as a creative artiste. He said that I remind him of the 1990s’ heroines. Just by talking with him generally, I learnt the art of filmmaking. He had such a child-like heart. He was so passionate that even you feel like pushing yourself. I really miss him. If he was here, there would have been so much support.”

The sets of Kaagaz 2 also became a reunion for Satish Kaushik, Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta as they were from the same batch at the National School of Drama (NSD). “They used to speak like they are in college like a college gang and pull each other’s leg,” recalled Smriti.

The actress also shared an interesting and funny incident during the days when Kher and Kaushik were strugglers, which was revealed to them by the Saaransh actor on the sets of Kaagaz 2. “Kher sir was once going around taking his pictures to get cast in films,” recalled Smriti. “He once went to a production house and showed a picture. The person saw Satish Kaushik also sir in it and asked who this is. Kher sir said, ‘Woh toh mar gaye.’ They used to do such things like friends normally do, without any bad intentions,” she said.

Kaagaz 2 releases in theatres today March 1.
