In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama at the IAA Leadership Awards, Ananya Panday shared details about her approach to brand endorsements and offered a glimpse into her upcoming OTT film, CTRL. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, the cyber-thriller is set to release on Netflix on October 4.

Initial Impressions of Vikramaditya Motwane

When asked to describe her first interactions and impressions of Vikramaditya Motwane, Ananya revealed, “He’s just wonderfully awkward as a human being. I just love that about him. He is the most straightforward, honest person. I don't think he can hide anything because his face just gives it away. And I'm also exactly like that. So, we actually don't even talk in words, just in facial expressions. We understand each other. And for me, it's such a big honor to be able to work with him so early on in my career, so much that he's taught me will stay with me.”

On-Set Dynamics with Motwane

Discussing Motwane’s on-set demeanor, Ananya explained, “He's a little bit of both. I think he's very certain and you know about the kind of script that he's written, the dialogues that he's written, but that doesn't go to say that he's not open to rehearsal and improvisation. It's something that we jam on before we start shooting. We've done a lot of workshops for this film for like, two, three months we were workshopping, and then even on the day of shoot, before we start shooting, which is something Shakun [Batra, Gehraiyaan director] used to do as well, we come in before we go into hair and makeup, and we block the entire scene. So, if there's any doubt, confusion, questions, improvisation, that's something we get out of the way before we actually get on set, so that it's much smoother to shoot.”
