Producer Ekta Kapoor has spoken about her plans to expand her work into the OTT space, sharing that she is currently developing a slate of shows aimed at reaching audiences across the world.
Talking about her upcoming projects, Ekta said that several shows are already in progress, even though details are yet to be formally announced. “I am making some shows. They haven't been announced yet. But I am working on it.”
She also spoke about her intention to take Indian storytelling to international viewers through these projects. “I am very excited because my stories will be spread all over the world. And I want the whole world to listen to our Indian creators' stories. So, I want everyone to watch the shows I'm making, be it in Korea, Japan, Africa or America. Everyone should watch the Indian creators' stories.”
Ekta has been closely associated with long-running television successes such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Naagin, through which she shaped mainstream Hindi television storytelling over the years. Her production banner, Balaji Telefilms, has backed a wide range of family dramas and genre-based shows that connected strongly with audiences across the country.
Alongside her work in television and digital formats, Ekta is also associated with upcoming projects, including Bhooth Bangla, which is slated for release on April 17.
