Double XL star Huma Qureshi pens an emotional note ahead of the release; calls it her ‘first baby’ : Bollywood News

Bollywood actresses Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi took the internet by storm as the makers of their upcoming film dropped the teaser of Double XL. While the audience and fans of both divas are eagerly waiting for the Double XL trailer, Huma has something special to share. On Friday, the actress took to her verified social media handle and posted an emotional note.

Interestingly, the post featured two notes. The first slide read, “What started out as a fun conversation with my closest friends & family --- Sonakshi, Zaheer; Saqib and Mudassar; literally in my living room, has now resulted in this film. All the actors were lamenting about the 'post lockdown weight' that we had gained and Mudassar spun a story around it, impromptu.”

The Badlapur actress further wrote, “This story found more and more friends in the following months as well as partners as we chugged along on this journey: This is a film written and made with a lot of love. A big thank you to everyone who joined us on the Double XL Dream and made this a reality. We are now releasing this film in the THEATRES.”

She then elaborated, “If someone had told me, when I had just arrived in Mumbai, almost a decade ago, that I would be instrumental in backing content which would not only resonate with me but also have the potential to strike a chord among many others, I would not have believed it. But then again, Dreams Do Come True!”

Meanwhile, in the second part of her note, the Ek Thi Daayan actress briefly talked about her bond with brother Saqib Saleem and writer Mudassar Aziz. She wrote how telling stories that travel beyond the ordinary is their collective dream. “Our first baby is ready to open its eyes and go frolic in the sun”, mentioned the actress in the note.

Before signing off with a pun, the 36-year-old actress requested the audience to watch her film in the theatre. For the unversed, Double XL, the Satram Ramani directorial, is slated to release on October 14, 2022. The film will revolve around the life of two plus-size women. Along with Huma, Sonakshi Sinha will be seen in the lead.
