Talented actor Dino Morea is all set to step his foot in Telugu film industry with Surender Reddy’s Agent, starring legendary actor Mammootty and Akhil Akkineni alongside. The actor has exhibited his talent in several films. However, OTT was a boon for him as it gave the actor a platform to showcase his versatility through films like Tandav, The Empire and many more.
In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Dino revealed the kind of roles the actor has not performed yet and how his upcoming project Agent is the kind of film he wanted to explore. The actor said, “Well, an all-out action film is something that I have really not been a part of in my career previously. So, Agent is now one of those. I have done a little comedy with Tom, Dick and Harry. I have done thrillers as in Raaz and Aksar. I have done my share of romantic movies. Action was something that was missing from my repertoire, and this is what it is.”
Further revealing his character in the upcoming film Agent, he said, “In Agent, I play a raw agent gone rogue. There is a negative wish character, an anti-hero character and he really is quite amazing, quite strong. It's about three different raw agents. We have got Akhil Akkineni and Mammootty also in the film. So, he is devious, crazy as any negative character would do. In playing negative always gives you that opportunity to go absolutely mad with your character.”
Talking about how the rise of OTT has given him a new lease of life, he shared, “OTT platforms has really changed the whole scenario, the whole game whether it's employment in the film industry or the content making industry or whether it's how we as consumers view content. It's obviously given rise to so much of talent, whether it's writing direction, cinematography or even acting. So many fantastic actors are all now getting more and more opportunities. People are being cast as per character which is absolutely wonderful.”
Dino spoke about how he did not get good offers earlier, but OTT came as a boon in his life. “I just took a conscious break because I was getting offered some terrible films and hence, I didn't want to say yes to anything that was rubbish. So, I waited while I worked in myself and then when OTT came along, directors saw me differently, somehow, they could use me differently and hence they were writing characters which I could definitely do something in. Hence, I did The Empire and did Mentalhood and then Tandav. So, it's changed everything for me and now am getting so many more offers because people have seen me in a new light and they know if they look at me differently and work with me, I can far surpass their expectations of what I can do as an actor. So, the OTT has been wonderful not only in mine but many careers,” he stated.
