Esha Deol recently wished Karan Deol on his special day, as he tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart Drisha Acharya. The actress’ wish, however, further led to netizens speculating about her giving the wedding a miss and the reason for the same. Followed by the same, Dharmendra took to social media to clarify and apologize to her, Hema Malini, and Ahana Deol. And now, the yesteryear diva has opened up about the actor’s relationship with the daughters and expresses her gratitude towards him for always being there for them.

In an interview with Lehren, Hema Malini opened up about the relationship and bond Dharmendra shares with their daughters saying, “I have my two children, they are brought up very well and he (Dharmendra) is always there. That is the best part, he is always there.” In the same interaction, Hema also recalled the time when Dharmendra worried like a typical Indian father about his daughters’ marriage. She continued, “He was worried, ‘shaadi hona chaiye bachchon ka jaldi (The kids should get married quickly).’ I said ‘It’ll happen when the time is right, the right person will come around’. With the blessings of god and guru ma, everything happened.”

For the unversed, Dharmendra was first married to Prakash Kaur and has two sons with her, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. However, the legendary actor met Hema Malini on the sets of his films and fell in love with her. He, later, married her without divorcing Kaur and has two daughters with Malini, Esha Deol Takhtani and Ahana Deol Vora. Although the families are not in dispute, it has always been seen that the two families have maintained distance from each other.

Recently, Sunny Deol and Pooja Deol’s elder son Karan Deol got married to Drisha Acharya and even though, Esha Deol gave her best wishes to the couple on social media, neither her nor Hema Malini or Ahana attended the wedding or the functions related to it.
