Aamir Khan is back once again as a producer with his latest film Delhi Belly. The film, which Aamir describes as a ‘kamina comedy’, is directed by Abhinay Deo and stars Imran Khan, Vir Das, Kunaal Roy Kapur, and Shenaz Treasurywala.
Aamir, along with director Abhinay Deo, unveiled the first song promo of the film yesterday to the media and also spoke about the film. Speaking about the film, Aamir said, “Delhi Belly is a fun film and is completely irreverent. Even though the film doesn’t have any skin show, it’s not meant for kids. It’s meant for the young at heart. I would call it a ‘kamina comedy'”
Speaking about director Abhinay Deo, Aamir said, “He has done full justice to the film.”
Aamir also spoke highly of nephew Imran Khan. He said, “Imran suited the role perfectly. He is someone who has great potential and is always hungry to learn more and more.”
The actor-producer also had words of praise for the writer of the film Akshat. Said Aamir, “Akshat is a pass-out from a film school in LA. Kiran actually read his script first and found it really funny and that’s how things fell into place.”
The song ‘Bhaag D.K.Bose‘ which was unveiled yesterday has some rather quirky lyrics. Speaking about the song, Aamir said, “The song is meant for people who are stuck in a sticky situation and they have no other option but to run.”
Finally, Aamir described the film as a comic-caper belonging to the same genre of cinema as films such as The Hangover and Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels.
Delhi Belly is slated to release on July 1.
