Deepika Padukone has shared an exciting update on her initiative designed to support emerging creative talent in the entertainment industry. The actor recently took to social media to talk about the overwhelming response to her Create With Me – OnSet Program, revealing that more than 5,000 applications were received for the opportunity.
In a video shared online, Deepika reflected on the extensive process of reviewing entries over the past few months. The initiative, which aims to give aspiring professionals hands-on experience in film and television production, appears to have attracted a large number of applicants from across the creative ecosystem.
Sharing her experience, Deepika wrote, “It's been a gruelling 3 months! And the team and I were pleasantly surprised by the quality of applications we received and had to sieve through. It was lovely speaking with soo many of you and getting to know you better... Stay tuned to find out our first Cohort of the Create With Me - OnSet Program! #CreateWithMe #OnsetProgram”.

The update comes several months after the actor first introduced the OnSet Program on her birthday as part of her broader Create With Me platform. The initiative is aimed at empowering the next generation of storytellers and technicians by opening doors to real-world learning experiences within the entertainment industry.
Through the OnSet Program, selected participants will have the chance to work closely with experienced professionals while gaining exposure to different departments involved in film and television production. These include writing, direction, camera operations, lighting, editing, sound design, art design, art direction, costume design, hair styling, make-up artistry, and production.
When launching the initiative earlier, Deepika had explained that the idea grew from the strong response she received when she first introduced the Create With Me platform last year. The actor emphasised that supporting creative minds—from writers and directors to producers and technicians—has become an important focus for her.
The programme is intended not only as a learning platform but also as a stepping stone for emerging talent looking to build sustainable careers in the industry. By offering hands-on training on professional sets, the initiative hopes to provide participants with practical exposure to the realities of filmmaking.
The OnSet Program also builds upon the foundation laid by Create With Deepika Padukone: Pitch Format, an earlier initiative that invited creators to submit original concepts and content formats aligned with her vision for collaborative storytelling.
With the application process now complete and entries reviewed after months of screening and discussions, Deepika has hinted that the first cohort of participants will soon be announced. The upcoming reveal will mark the next step in her effort to nurture and spotlight new voices in Indian entertainment.
