Amid the swirling controversy sparked by actor Rana Daggubati's recent statements, actress Sonam Kapoor has seemingly weighed in with a subtle reaction. Without explicitly referring to the unfolding events of the past few days, Sonam chose to share a meaningful quote by the former First Lady of the United States, Eleanor Roosevelt.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Sonam shared the poignant quote alongside a brief message, aiming to convey a powerful message without directly addressing the situation. The quote, penned by Eleanor Roosevelt read, “Small minds discuss people; average minds discuss events, great minds discuss ideas.” Sharing the post, Sonam wrote, “Just a little something I’d like some people to know… especially when discussing things about people that are made up.”

Earlier Rana had written apology letter to Sonam on Twitter. He had written, “I am genuinely troubled by the negativity that has been aimed at Sonam due to my comments, that are totally untrue and were meant entirely in a light-hearted manner. As friends, we often exchange playful banter, and I deeply regret that my words have been misinterpreted. I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt apologies to Sonam and Dulquer, both of whom I hold in great esteem. I hope this clarification puts an end to any speculation and misunderstanding. Thank you for your understanding.”

This all began when Rana in a recent gathering in Hyderabad for Dulquer Salmaan's upcoming movie, King of Kotha, became the centre of attention when he shared an intriguing anecdote during the event. The incident quickly became a talking point as a video capturing Rana's words went viral. During the event, Rana heaped praise on Dulquer's commendable patience while skilfully dropping a remark that seemed to allude to a prominent Bollywood actress. In the anecdote, Rana playfully recounted an incident where the said actress, as per the inference, was engrossed in a phone conversation with her husband about shopping, causing a delay for the entire crew. Although Rana tactfully refrained from mentioning any names, the online community was swift to connect the dots, linking his narrative to Sonam Kapoor, and speculating that the incident could have taken place on the set of The Zoya Factor.

For the unversed, Dulquer Salmaan featured as a cricketer in the film The Zoya Factor, which had Sonam Kapoor in the role of an advertising executive. Based on the novel by Anuja Chauhan, the film released on September 20, 2019.
