Cirkus: Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone flaunt sizzling chemistry in high-voltage ‘Current Laga Re’ : Bollywood News

Rohit Shetty’s highly anticipated trailer of Cirkus was unveiled on Friday, December 2. While Ranveer Singh plays a double role for the first time, the comedy entertainer also marks the cameo of Deepika Padukone. The first song of the film 'Current Laga Re' was unveiled in the presence of both actors in Mumbai. Rohit Shetty was also in attendance as the peppy dance number got the audience wanting for more.

Deepika Padukone is dressed in a pink-green outfit which seems like an ode to her character Meenamma from Chennai Express (2013). The actress donned a bun with gajras and a choker necklace. Ranveer, on the other hand, is dressed in all-black with a slick hairdo sporting a mustache. The mad chemistry is palpable in the video whereas the choreography is loud and fun. Composed by Lijo George and Dj Chetas, the song has been sung by Nakash Aziz, Dhvani Bhanushali, Jonita Gandhi, and Lijo George.

At the trailer launch, Ranveer Singh was seen gushing about Deepika’s cameo in the song and called it ‘zabardast’ and ‘high voltage’. When asked about Deepika's reaction after watching the song, Ranveer turned to Rohit Shetty and said, “She had come to my office yesterday to see the song, and Boss (Rohit Shetty) showed her the song. Boss, kaisa laga bhabhi ko?” However, even before Shetty could answer the question, someone from the audience shouted, “Accha laga, accha laga,” which left everyone in splits.

Ranveer and Deepika tied the knot in 2018 after dating for six years. The actors have previously worked together in Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, and 83.

Cirkus is based on The Comedy of Errors, which inspired the Gulzar cult comedy, Angoor and is set in the 1960s’. The film also stars Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Johny Lever, Siddharth Jadhav, Tiku Talsania, Sanjay Mishra, Vijay Patkar, Ashwini Kalsekar, Mukesh Tiwari, Vrajesh Hirjee, Brijendra Kala among others. Directed by Rohit Shetty, Cirkus is set to release theatrically this Christmas on 23rd December 2022.
