Akshay Kumar's much-awaited Rustom released today which is inspired from 1959 highly publicized K.M. Nanavati case that changed the face of Indian judicial system. It turns out that Akshay Kumar met the former deputy commissioner of police crime branch John Lobo a day before Rustom's release.

Nanavati ahead of Rustom releaseOn Thursday, Akshay Kumar visited John Lobo's house and was surprised to see that at the age of 95 Mr. Lobo remembered every case he had investigated in his entire life including the Nanavati case. While talking to him, Mr. Lobo recalled all the officers who were a part of the sequence of events.
Sharing the experience of meeting Akshay Kumar, Mr. Lobo said that Akshay was tall as Nanavati and said, "He (Akshay) is much like the fine, tall specimen I had met almost 60 years ago."
For those who didn't know what the movie is all about, here is a quick summary. Akshay Kumar's Rustom is a story based on K.M. Nanavati case that took place in 1959 in which Naval Commander Kawas Manekshaw Nanavati was tried and acquitted for the murder of Prem Ahuja, his wife's lover. Akshay plays the role of Naval officer Rustom Pavri and Ileana D'cruz plays his wife Cynthia Pavri.
