“If I had to cast a cricketer for Brahmastra, it would be Virat Kohli”- Ayan Mukerji : Bollywood News

Ahead of the inaugural Tata IPL 2022 game between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the Brahmastra cast comprising Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Ayan Mukerji featured on the Cricket Live show on Star Sports, the official broadcaster of IPL. Brahmastra will be released on September 9, 2022, in theatres across India. Director Ayan Mukerji spoke about which cricketer he would cast for Brahmastra, Ranbir Kapoor narrated his experience of playing football with MS Dhoni, and Alia Bhatt touched upon her favourite IPL players.

Responding to a question on Cricket Live on Star Sports, film director Ayan Mukerji, said, “All my answers related to cricket are always Virat Kohli. Brahmastra needs a true superstar spirit, so I would cast Virat Kohli.”

Ranbir Kapoor speaking during a Cricket Live episode on Star Sports said, "The IPL is engrained in our culture and our entertainment. I have learnt so much from MS Dhoni during a football game. I have had the good fortune of playing a couple of matches with the entire Indian cricket team and they are such good football players. MS Dhoni is a genius guy. I appreciate his mentality, demeanour, and humility. When you talk to him, he is always listening to you and he will never speak extra. He is really a great guy.”

Alia Bhatt during a Cricket Live episode on Star Sports said, "Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, MS Dhoni, and Bumrah are my favourite players. All of them are fantastic."
