Acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has heaped praise on Kareena Kapoor Khan's performance in Hansal Mehta's upcoming film, The Buckingham Murders.

Taking to his Instagram stories, Kashyap wrote, "Kareena Kapoor's best performance ever in this moody film about loss and grief, and murder, by Hansal Mehta."

Kareena, who is also making her debut as a producer with the film, had earlier shared a post on social media about its screening at the 67th BFI London Film Festival. She wrote, "A journey that @hansalmehta, @ektarkapoor and I took is premiering at the 67th BFI London Film Festival. It is an atmospheric thriller, that explores themes of loss, closure and the immigrant experience. What makes this moment even more special is that it’s one of the three films from India that made it to the festival! If you happen to be in the UK, we hope you can watch it, it's being shown at the Curzon Mayfair on 14th and 15th October."

Meanwhile, in another Instagram post, Kareena talked about her character. In a note, she wrote, “Jas was a character I have been waiting to play for the last 23 years, being a huge fan of the detective series genre… watching everything from Karamchand to Helen Mirren in Prime Suspect to Hercule Poirot in Agatha Christie to Kate Winslet in Mare of Easttown, I was just dying to be that detective woman. On a 25-page synopsis given to me by Hansal and Ekta, I started reading it at 1 a.m., and I knew I had found the woman I wanted to be.”
