The Buckingham Murders trailer launch: Hansal Mehta reveals Jeh took away continuity prop from the sets; says that Kareena Kapoor Khan used to come to his building and used to look through him

Kareena Kapoor Khan, producer Ektaa R Kapoor and director Hansal Mehta launched the trailer of their film The Buckingham Murders at a multiplex in Mumbai on September 3. All three were in top form as they spoke about the film and also gave headline-worthy quotes.

Hansal Mehta thanked his producer for getting Kareena Kapoor Khan on board. He said, “This is something that Ekta facilitated. Without her, I wouldn’t have even met Kareena. I used to live in the same building as her. She used to go for Christmas bash, and she used to just walk past me! I would stand by wondering ‘Kareena Kapoor just took the lift’!”

He then talked highly of his lead actress, “There’s a quality that stars possess, and I have experienced it first-hand. Beyond that, I have been blessed with working with some really great actors. And Kareena is one of the best actors we have today. Her stardom draws you to cinemas, but her performances have ensured even after 25 or 50 years, an actor would always be alive. Stardom can fluctuate but your talent will never die. She is an absolute powerhouse.” As expected, there was applause at the venue over this statement.

Kareena Kapoor Khan plays a detective who’s also a mother. On this, she said, “That is what connected to my character – her emotions and emotional arc – apart from the fact that I got to play a detective. It had so much soul in it that I realized that this was the right time for me to feel this character. I feel it is the duty of every actor to keep doing differently over and over again.”

On being a working mother in real life, the talented actress stated, “I enjoy the hustle of working and at the same time, being a mother and a wife (smiles).”

Kareena Kapoor Khan further said that while her elder son Taimur wasn’t present on the set, her younger son Jeh was with her during the shoot. Hansal revealed, “He took away my continuity prop!”

The Buckingham Murders, which also marks Kareena Kapoor Khan’s first film as a producer, releases in cinemas on September 13. Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the news that it’ll have a release in original Hinglish as well as Hindi dubbed versions.
