In the conversation on Thursday afternoon, Tejasswi Prakash talked about earlier days in the industry and wearing knock offs of iconic designer wears. “Coming from a middle-class family, I really feel there’s a huge population, like 70 to 80 percent are middle-class people and for them or for us, it is difficult to get access or be a Sabyasachi or Manish Malhotra bride or wear Falguni and Shane Peacock clothing. For you to get knock offs is easier. I have, initially, done that. I had to go for an event, and I didn’t have the concept of stylist. So, I got this fabric online and got it stitched from my local tailor. When the other actors said that you can hire a stylist and get the things, then I understood that these are the things that matter.”
She continued, “I started hiring stylists, wearing designer outfits. There were times I was appreciated better when I was wearing something that looked good on me, irrespective of who the designer or stylist was. It took me a while to learn.”
