In this panel, as Rajeev Masand was seen asking about OTT and its advantages, Sobhita Dhulipala described about how the platform gives space in the form of web shows where actors can be fleshed out and stories can be created elaborately since there are no time restrictions. “I am an actor who has hugely been benefitted from the OTT space. I am of the opinion that ek character ki screen time sabse important cheez nahi hai. I have watched some films where someone comes for a little bit and leaves a huge impact. But, in my experience, finding such characters for women in films is a lot less and OTT is a little unafraid to give that space. So I have benefitted from it and I see the value in it,” said Dhulipala, who gained massive fame for her role as Tara in the Amazon Prime Video series Made In Heaven.

The actress also pointed out how an actor gets more room to showcase his talent even in smaller roles since the characters are well-written and developed. “Obviously, when a character is fleshed out and better developed, the actor has more to play with. No matter how screwed up the character, how overtly happy or how grey, there are a lot of reasons to understand why they are that way. And OTT gives space for that. In films, it is so quick that you don't have the time to invest or understand ki koi kuch kar raha hai toh kyun kar raha hai. There is no time to explore the reasons. In shows, there is that space and it is a huge value addition to an actor's performance and for the screenplay. It is indulgent and it is beautiful,” added Sobhita.

Sobhita Dhulipala is currently riding high on the success of Made In Heaven 2 which also features Arjun Mathur as Karan and features actors like Mona Singh, Jim Sarbh, Kalki Koechlin, Shashank Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Trinetra Haldar, among others.
