2023 was an eventful year for Bollywood. It saw some of the biggest hits of all time and some explosive comeback of stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Sunny Deol. At the same time, the year also saw some smaller to mid-size films clicking at the box office purely due to its content. Along with box office success, the year also saw artistes from various departments of filmmaking shining. Hence, Bollywood Hungama has decided to honour them through this list of the Best of 2023.
The Part 3 of the Bollywood Hungama Best of 2023 will honour actors who shone with their breakthrough performances that played a major role in their respective films achieve more glory.
The Best Actor in a Supporting Role Male and Female went to Tota Roy Chowdhury and Shabana Azmi respectively for their film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Bobby Deol’s menacing act in Animal left everyone in awe. He was adjudged Best Actor in a Negative Role while Varun Sharma was given the honour of Best Actor in a Comic Role for Fukrey 3. Rajveer Deol, the youngest son of Sunny Deol, and Alizeh Agnihotri were declared Best Debut Male and Female for their performances in Dono and Farrey respectively.
Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male) - Tota Roy Chowdhury - Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani
Despite the presence of big stars, Tota Roy Chowdhury made heads turn with a mature performance. His performance during ‘Dola Re Dola’ was the highlight of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female) - Shabana Azmi - Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani
Shabana Azmi had an unusual character to portray in this film as Dharmendra’s old lover. It doesn’t come as a surprise that she overcame the challenge effortlessly.
Best Actor in a Comic Role - Varun Sharma - Fukrey 3
Varun Sharma reprised his character Choocha for the third time. Yet, he succeeded in making us laugh yet again.
Best Actor in a Negative Role - Bobby Deol – Animal
Bobby Deol played a mute character in Animal, yet he not only succeeded in being menacing but also emotional. This act became a major triumph of 2023.
Best Debut (Male) - Rajveer Deol – Dono
Rajveer Deol overcame the challenge of being a Rajshri Productons’ hero in his debut film Dono. He mostly managed with just a smile.
Best Debut (Female) - Alizeh Agnihotri – Farrey
Alizeh Agnihotri didn’t show any jitters and succeeded effortlessly in playing the strong character of a young student in Farrey.
