Bigg Boss 14: Here’s all that you need to know about the grand premiere of the Salman Khan hosted show

After a long wait, Bigg Boss 14 was finally launched today and the grand premiere was nothing less than spectacular and extravagant. With the celebrities introducing themselves with special performances, the show became even more special in no time. Salman Khan played the perfect host and was accompanied by previous seasons’ contestants – Sidharth Shukla, Hina Khan, and Gauahar Khan. Even though this was quite literally the first day, the tasks and the drama have already begun and the viewers are too excited to know what will happen next.

The night began with Bigg Boss welcoming its viewers and giving an overall view of the house assuring that it has been sanitized and was locked for over 24 hours before the contestants entered the house. With that, the host Salman Khan made a ‘smashing’ entry accompanied by a hammer and cracked a few jokes about how the lockdown had taught people household chores. Salman Khan then went on to call upon the ex-contestants, Sidharth, Hina, and Gauahar on stage. Needless to say, the trio mesmerized the viewers with a power-packed performance.

Shedding light on their special role in the season, Sidharth, Hina, and Gauahar said that they will be staying in the house for 15 days and will be choosing the contestants that they think are fit to survive in the show. Sidharth Shukla will be overlooking the bedroom, Hina Khan will overlook the personal things, while Gauahar will be in charge of the kitchen. All the contestants will be on a ‘To Be Confirmed’ basis for the first 15 days where the seniors will pick the toughest ones. The seniors will be judging the contestants based on different factors and will decide whether they can stay or leave.

Eijaz Khan was the first contestant to be introduced and he wooed the viewers by grooving to the song, ‘Tera Baap Aaya’. Eijaz also informed that he gets angry easily and that his nickname is Gabbar. After Eijaz, Nikki Tamboli makes an entry with a scintillating performance on ‘Dilbar’. The self-acclaimed hottie confessed that girls don’t seem to like her because she attracts boys. The duo was later selected by the three toofani seniors to be a part of Bigg Boss 14.

After them, Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla made an entry on the stage and spoke about how they had petty fights during the lockdown. Rubina Dilaik was rejected by the seniors while Abhinav Shukla was selected and was asked to do a ramp walk without a shirt before entering the house. Jasmin Bhasin made an entry after the couple and was asked to order food for the contestants worth Rs. 2020. After succeeding at the task, she was selected by the trio and made an entry in the house. However, Jasmin was asked by Gauahar to not to react to situations and Hina Khan cut her hair while Sidharth Shukla gave her an electric shock. after completing the exercise, she made an entry in the house.

Nishant Singh Malkhani is introduced as the next contestant and in his introductory video he confessed that he is short tempered and cannot bear it when someone misbehaves with a woman. Shehzad Deol makes an entry after Nishant and said that he would like to take Hina out on a date if given the choice between Gauahar and her. Sara Gurpal makes is introduced next who croons her famous track, ‘Jatti Nu Jatta Tu Chahida’ leaving everyone impressed.

Nishant and Shehzad were next asked to prove their worth by performing a pole dance and a bout of arm wrestling. When Salman Khan asked Shehzad Deol to propose to Sara Gurpal, he told her that she looks like a duck and everyone had a good laugh. Nishant was also asked to woo Sara and he chose to write a poem for her, the latter chose him over Shehzad. Seniors, however, selected Shehzad and rejected Nishant and Sara. Nikki Tamboli and Eijaz Khan got in an argument over the latter’s snoring habits.

Jaan Kumar Sanu was introduced later and happens to be the youngest contestant on the show. He also confessed that his father, Kumar Sanu, was shocked to know that he will be a part of the reality show. Pavitra Punia makes a sizzling entry, grooves to ‘Tip Tip Barsa Pani’. Pavitra was selected by the seniors while Jaan Kumar Sanu was rejected. The seniors were impressed by her observational skills when she called Jasmin ‘Chaalu’ and said that Shehzad gave her ‘wannabe vibes’ while Abhinav looked like a sorted person.

Radhe Maa walks in to bless the house of Bigg Boss and said that she will come whenever they call her. After her exit, Rahul Vaidya makes a musical entry and sings some of Salman Khan’s hit tracks including ‘Dil Diya Gallan’, ‘Chunri Chunri’, and ‘Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali’. Salman Khan then remembered the late singer SP Balasubrahmanyam and said, “It's a big loss to the music industry...I am standing here because of him."
