Bhushan Kumar proudly says, “Border 2 is an ORGANIC hit!”; opens up on self-buying of tickets: “We don’t believe in it…Sunny Deol asked me, ‘Apni advance ekdum normal hai na?’; I assured him, ‘Hum ekdum organic chal rahe hai’”

Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Anya Singh, Medha Rana, Anya Singh, Bhushan Kumar, Nidhi Dutta, Anurag Singh and others attended the success press meet of their film Border 2 at a five-star hotel in Mumbai. It was one of the best events of the year as the actors gave headline-worthy quotes, raised laughs and also touched the hearts of the press as they shared their emotional experiences. In between, Varun took over the hosting duty and it added to the fun.

About his co-star Medha Rana, he said, “She has given an outstanding performance. I couldn’t say this publicly, kyunki mujh pe hi aarop aa rahe the ki maine role kaise kiya hai! Toh main kisi aur ki taareef kaise karoon (smiles)? Now that the film is a super-hit…”

He stopped and asked Bhushan Kumar, “Is it a super-hit, sir?” Sunny asked Varun, “Abhi bhi shak hai?” Bhushan took the mic and proudly exulted, “It’s an organic hit. A blockbuster!”

A journalist then asked Bhushan Kumar about using the word ‘organic’ and the practice of self-buying of tickets. The producer said, “It's our industry and everyone has their own perspective. They have their own ways of announcing numbers. However, kuch cheezein hai jo nahin honi chahiye. Numbers are presented in a certain way. Hence, I can’t say much.”

He added, “When the film’s advance booking opened, Sunny sir asked me, ‘Apni advance ekdum normal hai na?’ (smiles). This is because we keep listening ki ‘yeh ho raha hai’ and ‘woh ho raha hai’, as in, self-buying of tickets is happening to promote the film. But we at T-Series don’t believe in indulging in such a practice. Hence, I told Sunny sir, ‘Hum ekdum organic chal rahe hai. Hamari advances organic hai’.”

Bhushan Kumar continued, “Also, woh pata chal jaata hai. If there’s anything fishy about the ticket sales, it comes out. Hence, I am very happy that Border 2’s numbers are real, thanks to the love from the people.”
