Earlier today, Bollywood Hungama published a story about how the number of Indian films releasing in IMAX will double this year. Till now, only Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan and Prabhas-starrer Adipurush are officially announced as IMAX releases. As per insiders, Ponniyin Selvan - Part 2 and Salman Khan-starrer Tiger 3 will also release in the IMAX theatres.

A few hours later, the second teaser of Bholaa was out and it’s end slate mentions that it’ll also have a release in IMAX version. Starring Ajay Devgn, this film is also directed by him and carries a huge buzz.

Bholaa also marks Ajay Devgn's first IMAX release. Though RRR (2022) was also released in IMAX, it didn't feature Ajay in a full-fledged role.

At the second teaser launch of Bholaa, Ajay Devgn was asked about what made him go for the IMAX version. To which, Ajay replied, "We had planned for a 3D release. We had not decided to go for an IMAX version. But some months ago, by chance, I met some people from the IMAX corporation from Hollywood. They suggested that I should release Bholaa in 3D. We sat down to discuss it and then things fell into place."

Ajay Devgn also added that Bholaa is an apt film to be watched in IMAX theatres, "The film will provide an IMAX experience. It's a large scale film. That's how we went ahead."

Besides Ajay Devgn, Bholaa also stars Tabu and Deepak Dobriyal. It releases in cinemas on March 30, 2023.
