Bhagya Lakshmi: Megha Prasad opens up about replacing Maera Mishra as Malishka; says, “I promise to bring my own essence while keeping its soul intact”

With the actress taking on the role of the antagonist in the highly-popular ZEE TV serial, she has shared her excitement about the same.

Zee TV’s popular fiction show, Bhagya Lakshmi, has won over audiences with its gripping twist in the love story of Rishi (Rohit Suchanti) and Lakshmi (Aishwarya Khare), with the third wheel Malishka (Maera Mishra) constantly attempting to destroy their bond. Ardent viewers would be aware that actress Maera has now bid farewell to her role as Mallisha. Stepping into the role of Malishka, actress Megha Prasad marked her entry into the show earlier this week and she has revealed that she is all set to take on the challenge with passion and dedication.

Taking over an already established character is no easy feat, but Megha is determined to bring her own essence while honouring the character’s legacy. Sharing her excitement, Megha said, “It’s truly a dream come true for me. Growing up in Kolkata, I watched Balaji shows and always imagined being a part of one someday. Now, living that dream feels surreal. Stepping into a well-loved show comes with great responsibility, but I am thrilled to embrace this challenge. Maera has done an incredible job shaping Malishka, and while the character is new to me, I promise to bring my own essence while keeping its soul intact. The cast has been incredibly warm, and the crew is helping me understand the finer nuances of the role. As a team, we are working hard to ensure a smooth transition for the audience. Change can be difficult, but I hope viewers welcome me with the same love and warmth they have always shown toward the show and its characters.”

Meanwhile, Maera has embarked on a new personal journey as she prepares to tie the knot with Rajul Yadav. After months of speculation, Maera confirmed her exit in January by taking to social media to share a video of her farewell. Along with that she expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the show's makers, her co-stars, and, most importantly, her fans in a note wherein she said,
“Its time for me to finally say goodbye to “Malishka” Leaving this show is the toughest decision I’ve ever made. Bhagya Lakshmi has made me what I am today and i will forever be grateful for that. I can’t thankyou all enough for giving me such beautiful memories. Aese co actors aur crew milna easy nahi hai, i can proudly say that i’ve got the best team ever. Keep rocking guys aur is show ko isse bhi bada bnao, i will miss each and everyone of you.” “This is the hardest goodbye without a doubt,” she added and concluded by thanking the producers, “Thankyou For Giving me the biggest show of my life, thankyou for giving me Malishka”.
