Ahead of the theatrical release of Battle of Galwan, Salman Khan Films has unveiled a series of special videos featuring real-life Army veterans and their families. The initiative comes after the teaser of the film and its songs, ‘Maatrubhumi’ and ‘Main Hoon’, received strong engagement online.
Sharing the videos on social media, the makers stated that Battle of Galwan salutes the families of Army veterans who have stood by soldiers through postings, farewells and homecomings. The series focuses on personal accounts from families who have experienced military life firsthand.
The first video features Mrs. Ganvi Chadha, daughter of Col. Mahip Singh Chadha from the 3rd Gurkhas, who served during the 1965 and 1971 wars. She recalls the challenges of communication during field postings, when families relied on booked calls through local exchanges and had to follow strict protocols. She also speaks about the emotional gaps during long separations and how small moments, such as sharing a favourite meal during holidays, became meaningful family memories.

In another video, Mrs. Savinder Manchanda, wife of Lt. Col. Jagdeep Manchanda (Retd) of the 16 Bihar Regiment, recounts a period when her husband’s unit was moved to Arunachal Pradesh in a sensitive region. She describes the uncertainty during that time, when phone connections were limited, and how brief conversations brought reassurance amid tense circumstances.

The third video features Lt. Col. Jagdeep Manchanda (Retd), who served in the Army from 1972 to 2003. Reflecting on his 32-year career, he describes it as a defining chapter of his life and speaks about participating in key operations, including involvement related to the Galwan Valley. He also expresses appreciation for the institution of the Indian Army and the experiences it gave him.

Through these videos, the production house shifts focus from cinematic storytelling to real-life narratives connected to the armed forces. The campaign appears designed to complement the film’s theme by highlighting the personal dimensions of service life.
Produced by Salma Khan under the banner of Salman Khan Films and directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Battle of Galwan also stars Chitrangda Singh in a pivotal role. The film aims to depict themes of courage, sacrifice and resilience, while exploring the emotional impact of conflict on both soldiers and their families.
