Indian cinema marked a landmark moment on the global stage as Boong became the first Indian film to win a BAFTA. The coming-of-age drama clinched the Best Children’s & Family Film award at the 79th British Academy Film Awards, making it a proud achievement for the industry. Backed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment, Chalkboard Entertainment, and Suitable Pictures, and directed by Lakshmipriya Devi, the film reportedly triumphed over major international contenders including Zootopia 2 and Lilo & Stitch.
