Ayushmann Khurrana and Prasoon Joshi recite their poems at the IndAA Awards

The India Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) presented the eighth edition of its prestigious IndAA Awards on September 1 at the Taj Lands End, Mumbai. Actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who recently wowed the audience with his performance in Dream Girl 2, was honoured with the Most Disruptive Brand in the Entertainment Industry award by IAA IndIAA Awards Chairman, Abhishek Karnani, and Avinash Pandey, President of IAA.

Khurrana, who is also known for penning down poems, recited lines from ‘Mukhaute’. He recited, "चहरे ये मुखौटे हैं,
मुखौटे ही तो चहरे हैं | अन्दर का राम जला दिया, कैसे उल्टे पड़े दशहरे हैं | अपनी ही आवाज़ सुन ना पाएं, पूर्ण रूप से बहरे हैं | मन की नदी उफान पा ना सकी, पर हम दिखते कितने गहरे हैं| ये मुखौटे कोई उतार ना ले, लगा दिए लाखों पहरे हैं | चहरे ये मुखौटे हैं, मुखौटे ही तो चहरे हैं |"

Renowned lyricist and Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification, as well as the CEO of McCann World Group India, recited a few lines from his poem ‘Chalo Hasee Ko Rivaj Kar Lein’. He recited, "चलो हंसी को रिवाज कर ले।
है मौन एक मोतियों की माला। कभी किसी पल जो टूटे टक से। तो टिप्पे खाते हजार मोती। यू खिलखिलायेंगे जैसे सोते से पानी जागा हो बाद, बरसों के जंगलों में। कभी हुआ ना जो आज कर ले। चलो हंसी को रिवाज कर ले। हंसी लुटा के हंसी जुटा ले। ये छोकरी है पलिश्त भर की।मगर है करतूत कमाल इसकी। लगा के ठट्ठे जो गूंजती है हवेलियों में पुराने चांदी के बर्तनों को रगड़ रगड़ के कोई दिखाता हो धूप जैसे। नए नगीने तलाश कर ले। चलो हंसी को रिवाज कर ले।"

Prasoon also sang his song 'Seekho Na', originally sung by Shubha Mudgal, and released in 1999.

The IndAA Awards honour real advertising that creatively cuts through to the market before it could impress the all-client jury saw work by 15 creative agencies take the top honours across 18 product and service categories and one special category. The awards saw 102 campaigns being shortlisted of which, by design, only one in each category was awarded. In case of close contests the jury awarded joint winners after much deliberation.
