Ayesha Shroff, who has been away from the industry, recalled the time when she made the multi starrer Boom featuring Amitabh Bachchan, and Gulshan Grover, among others and it also marked the entry of Katrina Kaif in Bollywood. However, the film failed to manage any kind of response, which eventually resulted in massive losses for the Shroff family. Recalling the time when their family spiralled into bankruptcy, Ayesha had spoken about how her husband Jackie Shroff and kids, Krishna and Tiger Shroff stood by her and supported her. On the other hand, Tiger also spoke about those days and reminisced that he would feel helpless because he was a kid.
During the Koffee With Karan episode that featured the Shroff boys, Jackie and Tiger Shroff, Ayesha was seen confessing about what happened during the bankruptcy phase. She had said, “I made a movie called Boom some years ago. That movie meant a lot to me. But unfortunately, the movie got pirated and distributors backed off. They refused to take delivery of the film. My husband stood with me and said, ‘It’s our family honour. We will release the movie. I am with you.'”
Owing to the bad business of the film, the Shroffs suffered losses. During the same, Mrs. Shroff also recalled how her son promised her to retrieve their house when he starts earning. “We put our house on lease and released the film. Of course, we lost the house. When Tiger joined the film industry, the first thing he told me was, ‘I am going to buy that house for you.’ That meant so much to me rather than big diamonds and declaration of love. When your husband stands by you and your son is like that, that means more to me than anything else.” Staying true to his promise, Tiger bought a new home for his family.
For the uninitiated, Tiger Shroff is currently one of the most sought after actors. While he made his debut with Heropanti, the actor has given some power packed performances in films like War and Baaghi. Reminiscing about his childhood days, Tiger had elaborately spoken about the bankruptcy in an interview with GQ magazine where he had said, “I remember how our furniture and stuff was sold off, one by one. My mother’s artwork, lamps… Things I’d grown up seeing around us started disappearing. Then my bed went. I started to sleep on the floor. It was the worst feeling of my life. I wanted to work at that age but I knew I could do nothing to help.”
Tiger Shroff has Ganapath, Siddharth Anand’s ambitious project that is a remake of the Sylvester Stallone movie-series Rambo, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan remake in the pipeline.
