After wrapping up their food exploration of New Delhi’s chole bhature hotspots, actors Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi, along with their son Ayushmann, continued their culinary adventures this time across Mumbai, in search of the city’s best “Bombay” sandwich. Their journey turned into a delightful mix of stories, memories and Parmeet’s “bad dad jokes” as the trio visited three popular sandwich joints to decide the ultimate winner.

Their first stop was Ideal Sandwich at Nariman Point, where the shopkeeper who has been running the place for 32 years served them a classic Bombay sandwich and a chilli cheese variation. Between playful debates on whether a sandwich should be grilled or not, the family polished off both items before heading to the next spot.

The second destination, Raju Sandwich Shop near KC College in Churchgate, stirred up emotional nostalgia for Archana. As they drove past Marine Drive, she recalled her early modelling days. “This place always brings back memories of the days when I was still struggling. Back then, there used to be a lot of modelling and ad agencies in Nariman Point and Marine Drive. I was trying to become a model, and we used to go from agency to agency with our photos because there was no technology available using which you could just send your pictures,” she reminisced.

Ayushmann responded that those hardships shaped her journey, prompting Archana to say, “Now it’s your job to work hard and collect stories for the upcoming generation.” When Ayushmann joked, “If I have such a beautiful face, my struggle is also bound to be beautiful,” Archana burst into laughter. As he asked for a role, she quipped, “I wish it was that easy.”

Their final stop was Lucky Sandwich Shop in Vile Parle, operational since 1981. The owner shared that his father began the business and that he now manages it while simultaneously working as a graphic designer.

Throughout the trail, Archana and Parmeet also interacted with young fans, posing for pictures and encouraging them to subscribe to their YouTube channel. Parmeet added humorously, “Sharam bilkul nahin aani chahiye. We are working very hard for this (YouTube).”
