Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta share their views on young actors; says, “We have to work on our body and youngsters have to work on their acting” : Bollywood News

The latest film Shiv Shastri Balboa included veteran performers Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta. In a recent interview, the performers discussed their about and how they have improved themselves. Anupam also recalled how Neena used to prepare her own meals and clean her own dishes while attending acting school.

Neena stated an interview with Bollywood Bubble, “We try to stay fit and look a little respectable. I learn this from the youngsters today; they work a lot on their bodies. And I feel that fitness is one of the reasons why people are liking us now and giving us work.”

Anupam agreed with Neena and hilariously said, “We have to work on our body and youngsters have to work on their acting.”

When asked what his fondest memory of Neena was, Anupam told Bollywood Bubble, “In drama school, girls and boys used to live in the same hostel. Neena was very western in terms of how she dressed; she kept cleaning her utensils in the common sink, and cooking food inside her room. I can never forget how I used to see this girl wearing a spaghetti strap top and cleaning her utensils.”

Anupam also remembered his initial move to Bombay in the 1980s, when he had wanted to become an actor. He said, “Career wise I showed my heropanti when I came to Mumbai. This is (Pointing towards his head) a very dignified bald sexy look but when you initially lose your hair, your hair scattered across your head. Also I was very thin. Everybody told me to become an assistant or a writer because they thought he would never become an actor.”

The previous year's Amitabh Bachchan-starring movie Uunchai marked Neena and Anupam's on-screen debut. Anupam Kher has many interesting projects lined up in his pipeline. The actor started working on The Vaccine War as well. The actor also has Kangana Ranaut's directorial Emergency. Other films are Kuch Khatta Ho Jaaye, Anurag Basu's Metro In Dino with Aditya Roy Kapur and Sara Ali Khan, The Signature with Mahima Chaudhry, IB71 and Nautanki.
