Actor Bobby Deol has opened up about his experience of working on YRF’s much-anticipated action entertainer Alpha, headlined by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. The film, directed by Shiv Rawail, promises a high-octane action spectacle centred around two female leads, something Bobby believes is both refreshing and significant for Indian cinema.
Sharing his excitement about being a part of the project, Bobby Deol praised the film’s unique concept and expressed how much he enjoyed collaborating with Alia Bhatt. The actor also reflected on how he has now worked with both Alia and Ranbir Kapoor after previously starring alongside Ranbir in Animal.
“I’m very fond of Ranbir and Alia, and I always wanted to work with both of them. With Ranbir, I did Animal, and now with Alia, I have now done Alpha. I had the best time working with both of them. It is quite amazing that we are making an action film in India, like Alpha, featuring two girls doing action on screen. I like Alpha a lot because it is new, it is refreshing, and a new visual for the audience to watch in theatres,” Bobby said.
The actor was particularly impressed by Alia Bhatt’s commitment towards performing physically demanding action sequences for the film. Bobby revealed that despite stepping into the action genre for the first time in such an intense manner, Alia approached the role with complete dedication and preparation.
“Alia is one of the most hardworking and sincere actors I’ve worked with. She comes to the set completely prepared, deeply invested in every scene. She has never done this kind of action before, and I was amazed seeing how prepared she was for the shoot. I could see she was giving her all because action is hard to pull off, and she went for it,” says Bobby.
He further credited producer Aditya Chopra and director Shiv Rawail for envisioning action that feels gritty and authentic on screen. “Adi and the director Shiv Rawail had a clear vision that action should look real and raw. So, it was a tough shoot for both of us, and I’m glad we have a film that everyone should sit back, relax, and hopefully enjoy thoroughly.”
Apart from Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, and Bobby Deol, the film also stars veteran actor Anil Kapoor in a pivotal role. Backed by Yash Raj Films, Alpha is scheduled to release in theatres worldwide on July 10, 2026.
