Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt has opened up about how becoming a mother to her daughter Raha Kapoor influenced her relationship with social media. In a recent conversation with Esquire India, the actor revealed that there are moments when she feels tempted to leave social networking platforms behind to focus more on her craft and personal life.
Speaking about the emotional complexity of online presence, Alia said, “There are days when I wake up and think, ‘Okay, I just want to delete my social media and be an actor who acts. I don’t want to keep up with this conversation again and again’.” She acknowledged the value of social media in connecting with her supporters but noted that the constant interaction can sometimes feel overwhelming.
Alia also highlighted the importance of those online connections, adding, “I know that would really cut off contact with so many people who’ve supported me from the beginning, and I don’t want to do that.”
Reflecting on how motherhood has reshaped her personal life, Alia described how her focus has shifted toward her daughter. “When it comes to really putting out your personal life… now my personal life is so personal that I find it a little bit difficult. My photo album is full of Raha. I actually have to work hard to take pictures of myself,” she said, pointing to the deep impact motherhood has had on her day-to-day perspective.
Alia became a mother to Raha alongside husband Ranbir Kapoor in November 2022, and the couple publicly introduced their daughter to fans during a Christmas outing in 2023.
Professionally, Alia continues to stay busy. She is slated to appear in Alpha, a high-octane action thriller directed by Shiv Rawail, and has future projects including Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
