Akshay Kumar reveals Twinkle Khanna’s playful jab at his patriotic films: “How many times will you save the country?” : Bollywood News

Akshay Kumar has been a part of numerous patriotic films, including Baby, Mission Mangal, Sky Force, and Airlift. In a recent conversation, he shared that his wife, Twinkle Khanna, playfully teases him for frequently choosing such roles. However, Akshay emphasized that he will continue doing them as he follows his heart.

Akshay Kumar reveals Twinkle Khanna’s playful jab at his patriotic films: “How many times will you save the country?”

At a Republic World event, Akshay Kumar shared that he has starred in numerous patriotic films since launching his production house. He recalled his wife, Twinkle Khanna, playfully asking, “How many times will you save the country?” Akshay explained that he drew inspiration from Hollywood films where Americans often save the world and believed Indians could do it even better.

He said, “But let me tell you something, and you will agree with me. We have seen so many Hollywood films where whenever there is any kind of trouble in the world – terror strike, alien invasion, asteroids falling from the sky, whatever might happen, who saves the world? America. So I started thinking that if America does everything, then when will we do anything? Don’t we know what India can do? India can do a lot.”

Akshay Kumar’s last patriotic film, Sky Force, saw him portraying an Indian Air Force officer. He said, “I know that such films don’t do much business because people want to watch entertainment, but let me tell you, I make these films because my heart says so. And I will keep on making these films about my country. The best part is, after the film releases, that is when people start watching it on streaming platforms.”

On the work front, Akshay Kumar is shifting gears from patriotic films to comedy. He will be seen in Welcome To The Jungle, Hera Pheri 3, and Bhoot Bangla.
