Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is currently riding high on the success of his recent film OMG 2. Post this success, Akshay Kumar is now gearing up for his next release, The Great Indian Rescue, earlier title as Capsule Gill starring opposite Parineeti Chopra.

Recently, Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra were seen together on the sets of the film, shooting for a Punjabi song. The video clips from the shoot have made their way onto social media, much to the excitement of fans. The glimpses reveal a foot-tapping Punjabi track with infectious beats, undoubtedly designed to leave a lasting impact. The snippet has further fuelled the anticipation for both the film and the music.

This upcoming movie also marks Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra's second collaboration, the first being the successful Kesari, which resonated well with audiences and left a positive mark on the box office. Initially slated for a solo release, The Great Indian Rescue now faces some competition as it shares its release date with Dono, a film starring Rajveer Deol and Paloma. The simultaneous release of both films on October 5, 2023, is expected to set the stage for an exciting showdown at the box office.

The Great Indian Rescue is based on the real incident surrounding the late Jaswant Singh Gill, the former additional chief mining officer, who saved the lives of 65 people trapped in a flooded coal mine in Raniganj in West Bengal in 1989. The makers have shot the movie in Yorkshire last year. The film will see Akshay play the character of Gill while it also stars Parineeti Chopra in a pivotal role.

Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, The Great Indian Rescue is set to release on October 5, 2023. Notably, Akshay Kumar had previously collaborated with Tinu Suresh Desai for the acclaimed film Rustom, a performance that earned him accolades.
