“Ajay Devgn’s eyes crushed me” – Shivaay heroine Erika Kaar

Promo of Ajay Devgn's next, Shivaay, has caught everyone's attention. While the film's terrific action sequences are expected to rock the show this Diwali, the film is also special for its leading lady Erika Kaar. The Polish actress, who came on board for the film around a couple of years back, is making her big Bollywood debut and is happy juggling between India and Poland as per the demand of the situation. Pretty much confessing that she takes a part of India with her whenever she travels to her home country, we catch up with Erika.

Ajay Devgn is famous for acting through his eyes anyways. Guess you got a first-hand experience of that with Shivaay?
(Laughs) Oh, absolutely. He is very good, clever and focused actor. I am not saying just because he is a director and a big star. Personally too, I am very fond of him. Going back to the professional approach, his eyes literally crushed me during one of the flirting scenes that we shot for. You must have observed that shot in the promo where he removes his shirt and I notice it. Now my character is quite far away from what I am in real life. To give the right reaction, I had to mentally condition myself well. I still remember that when he gave that shot and my turn came, I took a break of 15 minutes before returning (smiles).

There may not be any break for you in the coming two months though. After all in Bollywood, film promotion is a different exercise in itself as well. After spending so much time making the film, are you already exhausted with just the thought of promoting it for next two months?
You know what, I am actually worried about the fact that I am having way too much fun already. I am enjoying talking to people. See, I am generally a very open person. Also, I am really fond of Indian people. I have so many friends here and due to that I am not experiencing any pressure whatsoever. I feel I have done well to have reached here. I am really lucky to be doing work with some really good people. I am constantly been taken care of by the team of Shivaay. They are very protective about me. I am super proud of the fact that a girl from Poland has got a film in Bollywood with a co-star like Ajay Devgn.

So what happens next? Is there another film in the pipeline soon enough?
See, I have a very simple approach towards my work. I think it would be unfair for me to get into any new film before Indian audience sees me on screen. My work should speak for itself. There is a reason why the makers of Shivaay chose me for this part. I hope I deliver what I am expected to. Then hopefully if I am given a chance, I would gladly take up another project. Till then, it is all about Shivaay.
