There are many events and stories in the world of Baahubali and Mahishmati that are unheard, unseen and unwitnessed. Disney + Hotstar and Graphic India are set to bring you the prequel to the film franchise, Hotstar Specials’ Baahubali: Crown of Blood, a story where Baahubali and Bhallaladeva will join hands to protect the great kingdom of Mahishmati and the throne against its greatest threat, the mysterious warlord, Raktadeva, essayed by Rajesh Khattar.
Rajesh Khattar, who is known for his performances in films, television shows, and web-sereis, opened up about while preparing for an animated character, one needs to ensure that you get it right. He believes that people often need a mentor who can guide them thoroughly with how the character actually looks like and he mentioned how having a team and crew who supports you like that makes it all look a lot easier and provides comfortable environment to work on set. Talking about it, actor Rajesh Khattar said, “My dubbing director’s brief regarding the character became the guideline & we did experiment with few variations before settling down the tone, tenor & gravitas Raktadeva’s character would have, rest followed.”
He also shared his experience of working with Sharad Kelkar who has lent the voice to the famous Bahubali, as he added, “Sharad is a wonderful person, always respectful towards his seniors, he has already proven himself with Baahubali and many other projects in the voicing industry and it is always a pleasure working with him”.
A Graphic India and Arka Mediaworks production, Baahubali: Crown of Blood is produced by visionary S.S. Rajamouli, Sharad Devarajan & Shobu Yarlagadda, along with Jeevan J. Kang & Navin John, who have also directed the animated the series. Witness the action, drama unfold in this new version of the much-loved franchise, only on Disney+ Hotstar from May 17, 2024 onwards.
