Ahead of Toy Story 5 release, Soha Ali Khan recalls creating stories about her toy dog with Saif Ali Khan and Saba Ali Khan as kids: “One of us would start the story, another would continue it”

Actress Soha Ali Khan has shared a video on Instagram recalling her childhood memories with a stuffed toy dog named Elliot, ahead of the Indian theatrical release of Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 on June 19, 2026.

In the video, Soha reflected on summer afternoons spent with her siblings Saif Ali Khan and Saba Ali Khan, saying, “One of my most favourite summer vacation memories is just sitting with Bhai, with my sister Apa and making up stories around Elliot. One of us would start the story, another would continue it, and the third would add a twist; and by the end of the afternoon, Elliot had travelled the world, solved mysteries, and made the most unlikely friends.”

She also recalled imaginative games the siblings invented together: “Bhai would hide clues around the house, my sister would draw up a treasure map, and I would lead the investigation through Elliot. I remember entire afternoons just disappearing as we solved mysteries that basically existed only in our imaginations.”

Reflecting on what those memories meant to her, Soha said, “It was never really about the toy itself. It was about everything our imagination allowed it to become.”

Now a mother to daughter Inaaya, Soha shared that she passed Elliot on to her: “When Inaaya was born, I really wanted her to experience that same joy of creating her own little world, so starting with Elliot; I gave Elliot to her and now her favourite toy is stuffed animals. One day she is reading to them, she’s cooking for them, she’s teaching them lessons. Watching her imagination takeover is honestly one of my favourite things.”

Soha summed up the theme of the video with the observation that “Toys are never just toys. They’re often where some of our most cherished memories and biggest imaginations begin.”

Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 releases exclusively in cinemas in India in English and Hindi on June 19, 2026.
