Earlier reports had suggested that the much-awaited teaser of Ranveer Singh–starrer Dhurandhar 2 would be attached to the theatrical release of Border 2. However, fans were left surprised when Border 2, which hit theatres on January 23, did not feature the teaser of the high-octane action sequel.
Addressing the growing curiosity, filmmaker Aditya Dhar took to social media and offered clarity that has since reignited excitement. On Friday morning, the director responded to a fan query on Instagram Stories regarding the missing teaser. Keeping it short but reassuring, Aditya wrote, “Teaser will be out in a few days!” While no official date was announced, industry buzz suggests that the teaser could be unveiled around January 26, coinciding with Republic Day.
According to a source close to the development, the delay is part of a strategic rollout. “Both Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2 are nationalistic films, and the team at Jio Studios wants to capitalize on the wave of patriotic cinema. The new cut of teaser from the end-credits of part one will be out digitally too, after a premiere on the big screen. For the beginners, it is a big screen exclusive,” the source told Bollywood Hungama.
The anticipation around the sequel stems largely from the phenomenal success of Dhurandhar, which released in December last year and went on to become one of the biggest box-office blockbusters of the year. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film struck a chord with audiences for its intense patriotic theme, stylised action, and Ranveer Singh’s powerful performance. The film not only enjoyed a strong theatrical run but also recorded impressive footfalls across mass belts and multiplexes, cementing its status as a modern-day action spectacle.
The first instalment’s gripping narrative, backed by slick action sequences and a rousing background score, helped Dhurandhar emerge as a record-breaking success, setting high expectations for the sequel. With Dhurandhar 2, the makers are expected to scale up both the emotional stakes and the action quotient.
Produced by Jio Studios, Dhurandhar 2 is slated to hit theatres on March 19, 2026. With the teaser announcement now imminent, fans can expect the promotional campaign to kick into high gear in the coming days.
