During the shooting of Section 84, Banerjee, like many admirers, touched Big B’s feet as a sign of respect. However, to his surprise, the veteran actor responded by scolding him, saying, “Don’t do this!” Abhishek, taken aback, was left wondering how to break the ice after the unexpected reaction. It was only when director Ribhu Dasgupta introduced them, mentioning that both actors had attended Kirori Mal College, that the tension eased.

Despite the awkward start, Abhishek expressed his admiration for Bachchan, sharing how working with him has been a dream come true. "I could not take senior Bachchan out of him—it’s impossible," Abhishek remarked. He also revealed that in every performance, he pays tribute to the legendary actor in his own subtle way. Abhishek emphasized, “It is said that you should not imitate your heroes, but do something getting inspired by them,” explaining how Big B has influenced his craft without overshadowing his own identity as an actor.
