Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s vile response to sexual harassment charges is not only shocking but absolutely disrespectful on all levels. Amidst ongoing #MeToo movement, an air hostess came forward on Twitter and accused Abhijeet for harassing her at a pub and following her in a hotel room in Kolkata. She claimed he was forcing himself on her without her consent and also threatened her after she rejected his advances. Abhijeet not only denied these allegations but also insulted the survivor by fat shaming her. He said that he was not even born 20 years ago and has never been to pub or attended filmy parties. He said that the woman who called him out just wanted to seek publicity and was using his name for the same. The woman who pressed charges against him went on record and said, “Abhijeet’s frustrated behavior is neither a secret in industry nor on Social Media. Instead of apologizing, he’s “defending” himself by body shaming victims.”
This is not even the first time that Abhijeet is embroiled in a case like this. When asked about the same, he went on with his insensitive and revolting rant about how all the ‘dirty, fat and ugly’ women are now coming forward to press charges against him. This is not the first time that Abhijeet is being pulled up for his misbehaviour. He has been forced to take his absurd tweets down on many occasions in the past.
Along with Abhijeet, many in the industry including Vikas Bahl and Alok Nath have been called out for being sexual predators on social media. CINTAA is now taking cognizance of this and is looking into the matter after recording statements of the survivors. While most accused from the media and entertainment have come forward to own up their misdoings, Abhijeet, Alok Nath and Vikas Bahl have outrightly denied these claims.
