Aamir Khan recalls reactions of his loved ones about his break from work; says, “Now my mind is on the people” : Bollywood News

Bollywood’s Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan has been constantly active for the past 35 years. With movies like Lagaan, 3 Idiots and Taare Zameen Par in his filmography, the actor ruled the hearts of the audience. However, last year, a section of moviegoers and fans were dejected as Khan announced that he is taking a 1.5-year-long break from the work. Speaking of the same, Aamir Khan briefly spoke about his decision of taking a break and how his close ones reacted to it.

It all happened recently, when he attended the launch event of Shobhaa De’s new book Insatiable. While addressing his decision of taking a break from the work, Khan said, “The make fun of me. They always say - You were always on a break. Tu filmein hi kaha karta hai, jo tu ab break par hai. You see, the difference is now my mind is on the people. Earlier, my mind was on the films.”

For the unversed, post the poor performance of Laal Singh Chadha at the box office. It all happened during a chat session at his childhood friend’s event in Delhi, where Aamir revealed he was supposed to begin prepping for his next project, Champions.

He had said, “When I am doing a film as an actor, I get so lost in that, that nothing else happens in my life, which is why I decided to take a break. I was supposed to do a film called Champions after Laal Singh. It’s a wonderful script, a beautiful story. It’s a very heart warming and lovely film, but I want to take a break. I want to be with my family, my mom, and my kids.”

The Dangal actor further added, “I feel like I have been working for 35 years, and I have been single-mindedly focused on my work… And I feel it’s unfair to the people close to me. It’s not fair to me also in many ways. This is the time for me… to experience life differently.”
