Actor Kajol recently took a nostalgic trip down memory lane as Fanaa completed 20 years since its release. On May 26, 2026, the actor shared a heartfelt note on social media, remembering the unforgettable experience of shooting the film in the freezing cold weather of Poland alongside Aamir Khan. Directed by Kunal Kohli, Fanaa remains one of the most loved romantic thrillers of the 2000s.
Marking the special milestone, Kajol shared a candid note reflecting on both her personal life and the challenges she faced while filming in extreme weather conditions. Her post read, “20 years to Fanaa.. my daughter was 2 and a half years old and I was ——— 😜 but what I remember most was Poland in all its glory.. -27 degrees Celsius, beautiful forests and sleds 🛷 used on sidewalks .. ! And off course the fact that I wore a thin salwar kameez while most everyone else was dressed in goose down 🧐.. what a blast from the past!”
The actor’s post quickly resonated with fans, many of whom fondly remembered her role as Zooni Ali Beg in the film. Over the years, Kajol has often spoken about the physically demanding conditions under which portions of the movie were shot.

Interestingly, this is not the first time the actor has revisited memories from the film’s production. During the film’s 17th anniversary celebration, Kajol had revealed that one of the songs shot in Poland during extreme weather conditions was eventually scrapped and later reshot in Mumbai.
Sharing the behind-the-scenes experience back then, Kajol wrote, “Poland was -27 degrees centigrade on the first day of shoot and I was wearing a thin chiffon salwar kameez on a frozen lake with the wind chill factor aside. Aamir Khan on the other hand had bought himself a nice thick jacket from the local market just for the shoot. So his face did not have the natural pain that was there on my frozen face.”
She had further added, “And the cherry on top of the whole scenario was that the whole song was scrapped and RESHOT when we got back to Mumbai!! Can we all just salute women and heroines all over the world who do these things and much worse just to look good!”
On the professional front, Kajol recently wrapped up the first season of her celebrity talk show Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, which she co-hosted alongside Twinkle Khanna.
