After last week's slow performers, this week is no different with the release of SONALI CABLE and MUMBAI 125 KMS. While one is a David V/s Goliath story, the latter is a horror film, both of which have limited appeal.
As expected, both films have opened on a disastrous note with occupancy rates hovering in the single digit percentage. On the other hand, BANG BANG and HAIDER that are now running in their third week still seem to fare better than the newer releases.
On the whole, both SONALI CABLE and MUMBAI 125 KMS will have to rely on very strong and positive word of mouth to post even average collections. Meanwhile, all eyes are currently on the Diwali release HAPPY NEW YEAR, making this phase look like the calm before the storm.
