The new releases -- LONDON PARIS NEW YORK, PAAN SINGH TOMAR and WILL YOU MARRY ME? -- have opened to dull houses. LONDON PARIS NEW YORK had the best start amongst the new releases, around 15% to 20%. Its business will have to show a big jump from Friday evening onwards, if it has to leave a mark in its opening weekend. An urban-centric film, LONDON PARIS NEW YORK is expected to perform the best at plexes of major centres.
PAAN SINGH TOMAR and WILL YOU MARRY ME? were backed by minimal promotional campaign and even otherwise, no one was expecting PAAN SINGH TOMAR to open to packed houses. Such films [biopics] generally show an upward trend if the word of mouth is positive. In this case, the reviews are excellent and the film should show an escalation over the weekend.
