Actress Vidya Balan, who has previously extended her support to various social causes, is also the face of many. She has taken up the responsibility of spreading awareness about the importance of sanitation and has been working towards it for the past three years. Amidst other work commitments, the actress recently travelled across the country and visited North India to educate people about sanitation.
The actress is currently on a tour to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and is visiting some remote areas where they still do not have access to private toilets and bath facilities. Vidya, who was in Patna yesterday, has also delivered a speech in the presence of the Chief Ministers of both states, Nitish Kumar and Akhilesh Yadav. She will also be conducting many such activities where locals will be invited to encourage sanitation in the country.
Vidya confirms the news saying, “I was happy to visit Patna for the first time to share with people the importance of hygiene and sanitation. I will also visit Lucknow for the same purpose and hope to leave an impact that will consequently lead to positive changes in people’s toilet habits”.
