The shoot of Madamji postponed to April

After collaborating for the sports biopic Mary Kom, Sanjay Leela Bhansali decided to rope in Priyanka Chopra once again for his magnum opus Bajirao Mastani. The film, which has been in the making for years, finally went on floors a few months ago, with Priyanka Chopra playing one of the prominent roles in it.

However, during the same time, Priyanka Chopra had given her nod to Madhur Bhandarkar's social drama Madamji, which traces the journey of an item girl who enters politics. Madamji was ideally slated to go on floor in November. However, due to the ongoing shoot of Bajirao Mastani, it had to be postponed to December. But, now we hear that the film has been further pushed to April 2015 owing to the latest deal that the actress has signed with the American television network ABC.

Though it is being said that Priyanka had suggested about shooting Madamji in different schedules, Madhur Bhandarkar was of the opinion that the film had to be completed in a start-to-end manner due to the subject the film will be exploring. Hence, Priyanka Chopra will now be dedicating her time to her international commitment and later, will join the cast and crew of Madamji in April for a start-to-end schedule. While Madamji is Priyanka Chopra's second film with Madhur Bhandarkar after Fashion, this film will mark her debut as a producer in Bollywood.

On the other hand, Bajirao Mastani also stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone and Priyanka plays the role of Bajirao's first wife Kashibai in this period drama.
