Just yesterday we had reported that the Sonam Kapoor starrer Neerja that was directed by Ram Madhvani was declared tax free in the state of Maharashtra. Well now we hear that the Gujarat government has also granted the film a tax free status.
Tweeting about the same the producer of the film Atul Kasbekar posted, "#Neerja declared 100% Ent TaxFree in Gujarat effective immediately. Thank You CM @anandibenpatel for your prompt action." Apparently, Kasbekar and Sonam's father Anil Kapoor met the Chief Minister of Gujarat Anandiben Patel earlier yesterday to request for a tax free status for the film. Adding an image of their meeting Anil Kapoor posted, "With a promise to make #Neerja tax-free in Gujarat, @anandibenpatel has humbled & inspired us tremendously today!".
Sonam Kapoor’s Neerja declared tax free in GujaratAs for the film Neerja, that tells the story of the PanAM purser Neerja Bhanot who sacrificed her life to save the passengers on board in 1986, has been doing well at the box office. In fact the film that released a week back has managed to collect Rs. 32.26 cr till date.
