While Dilwale is already creating a lot of buzz owing to its star power, the film has earned yet another string of profit on its television rights. Apparently, Red Chillies, the production house owned by Shah Rukh Khan has entered into a strategic alliance with MSM (Multi Screen Media) for the television rights of the film.
Sony Entertainment Media (owned by MSM) which already holds the rights of Shah Rukh Khan's all time blockbuster Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, co-starring Kajol has now collaborated with Red Chillies for the satellite rights of Dilwale and has sealed the deal worth Rs. 60 crore. While the details are still unknown, we hear that this alliance also includes two to three other projects that come up to Rs. 220 crore.
Confirming the same, NP Singh, CEO, Multi Screen Media said, "Over the last 20 years that we've been in the industry, we've served some of the best cinema and general entertainment to viewers worldwide. As a network, our focus remains aligned to becoming the first choice in television and digital entertainment. Towards that end, this alliance of MSM and Red Chillies is expansive and pans a spectrum of co-produced content not only across television and digital but also films. Moreover, this partnership adds to MSM's already extensive library of blockbuster films."
On the other hand, Venky Mysore, CEO, Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt Ltd added, "Red Chillies has consistently pushed the boundaries across the spectrum, creating and producing entertaining content and ensuring it engages audiences worldwide on all the different platforms. In a first for us, we are entering into a partnership with MSM, that will explore content production across different platforms - TV, digital and films."
Prior to this, it was revealed that the music rights of Dilwale were sold for whopping Rs. 19 crore to Sony Music.
Directed and produced by Rohit Shetty along with Red Chillies, Dilwale stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon among others and is slated to release on December 18.
