After enthralling us with Bajirao Mastani, the maverick producer - director is all set to commence work on his next venture Padmavati. Now, we hear that while Bhansali is looking to kick start work on the film this coming week, he is also keen on featuring Rajasthani folk music in the film.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati to feature Rajasthani folk musicIn fact, the recee of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama Padmavati will take the director through small towns like Alwar, Bassi, Dungarpur, Khimsar, Pushkar, Mewar, and others with interaction with local musicians, singers and instrumentalists whom he plans to bring on board. Known for his keen sense in music SLB is looking to record the songs for the film even before shooting for the same starts. Apart from this we also hear that Bhansali is planning on bringing Rajasthani folk artistes to Mumbai, and will also carry out impromptu recordings and live sessions with the singers as a part of the prep.
As for the film, Padmavati which is slated to release in December 2017, tells the story of Alauddin Khilji, the second ruler of the Khilji dynasty, and his obsessive love for the queen of Mewar, Padmavati, who was known for her beauty, intellect and courage.
