While many fans were left grieving over the 2002 hit and run case verdict, Salman Khan too was in tears when he was proved guilty of all the charges. However, soon after the dismissal of the sentence, Salman Khan decided to divert his attention towards his work and the first on his agenda was to wrap up the shoot schedule of Bajrangi Bhaijaan which was at Kashmir.
The actor, who has been shooting amidst the picturesque locales for approximately 40 days, is now in awe of the valley. Showering praises on the beauty of Kashmir, Salman Khan was also impressed with the warm hospitality he received and stated that the people there are 'gentle, beautiful, simple and well-mannered'. Salman Khan also revealed that he had wished to shoot Dabangg in Kashmir but it never happened. Talking about the love for cinema that people have in Kashmir, Salman Khan not only requested his colleagues to come to Kashmir to shoot their films but also added that multiplexes should reopen there. He also expressed his desire to premiere one of his films if the theatres reopen in the valley.
Revealing about his Kashmiri connection, Salman Khan also mentioned that his maternal grandfather Baldev Singh Charak was from Jammu. Elaborating on the connection that Bajrangi Bhaijaan has with Kashmir, Salman maintained that Kashmir is not portrayed in the wrong light in the film and that the film deals more with the negative politics that victimizes people.
Produced by Eros International, Bajrangi Bhaijaan is directed by Kabir Khan and stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles. The film is slated to release on July 16, 2015.
