Not too long ago, producers hosted lavish parties only when their films completed a 25-week-run [silver jubilee] or 50-week-run [golden jubilee]. But Ramgopal Varma is truly different. He celebrated the success of his latest film BHOOT soon after its second week itself, by throwing a lavish party at Hyatt Regency, Andheri on June 15. The celebration saw the entire BHOOT team along with a select number of guests participating in the revelry till the wee hours of the next morning. Since the film belongs to the horror genre, Ramu had a live band performing the title track of the film, while a group of dancers [dressed as ghosts] danced to the tune. The atmosphere was truly eerie, with posters of horror films [PSYCHO, THE ENTITY, VEERANA, JAANI DUSHMAN] pasted all over the Regency Ballroom of the hotel, as 'haunting' tracks from GUMNAAM and BEES SAAL BAAD rent the air. Even the cuisine was given names to add to the eerie atmosphere. So there was 'Dracula' dal, 'terrifying' rotis, 'frightening' paneer, 'spine chilling' biryani The BHOOT party truly lived up to the title, must say!
