Karan Johar firmly believes in what he preaches in his cinema. For him it's always about loving the family. Want proof? He wrapped up the Shimla schedule of his new directorial project Student Of The Year a few days in advance, so that the film's debutant leading man Varun Dhawan could return to Mumbai to be with his elder brother Rohit for the release of the latter's directorial debut Desi Boyz.
Says a source, "The two Dhawan brothers are really close to one another. And Rohit has been really tense because of his film's release. He did want his brother Varun back to be with him. But Varun has been shooting non-stop for Student Of The Year."
When Karan Johar heard there was a big family show of Desi Boyz on Thursday he apparently wrapped up the film sooner than scheduled so that Varun could be home with his brother.
Says David Dhawan, "I'm very lucky to have my younger son Varun home when Rohit's film is on release. Karan has been very accommodating. I hope my son lives up to his expectations. Now it feels like one big family. For the special screening - I won't call it a premiere - I'm inviting all my friends. My wife Laali is inviting all her friends. Rohit has all his friends coming and Varun is in town, so he's coming with all his friends."
David admits he has never been so nervous about his own releases. "We all have our fingers crossed for Rohit's film. I am shooting Chashme Buddoor. But I am anxious about Desi Boyz."
